The Coal and Country Museum at Moura is a great way to spend time learning about the industrial history of Moura with plenty of memorabilia on display. There are also four Mining Memorials located throughout the town, dedicated to the lived lost in three separate mining disasters which occurred between 1975 and 1994.
While on the history trail, why not take a stroll ‘Down Memory Lane’. Recently developed by the Moura Coal and Country Historical Society ‘Down Memory Lane’ takes you on a guided history trail around the development of Moura’s first town block, before mining came to town. Drop into the ‘Culture Shack’ (located on Gillespie Street) for more information.
