Itinerary

DAY 1

Day One: Roma to Surat to Yuleba to Roma

Stu ing Surat is nestled on the banks of the iconic Balo e River. The Cobb & Co Changing Station Museum includes the 14 seat replica Cobb & Co Coach, a 25,000 litre fresh water aquarium and the Surat on Balo e Art Gallery. Stroll along the Balo e River, and absorb the history and culture of the Surat community. After lunch take the Cobb & Co tourist drive to Yuleba, and relive the history of an Australian icon, with a journey along Cobb & Co Way. The drive follows the route taken by the last Cobb & Co coach service to run in Australia. Enjoy afternoon tea at the peaceful Judd's Lagoon, followed by a memorable visit to the historic Calico Cottage Complex in Wallumbilla. Head back to Roma to The Big Rig for the Night Show Sunset Experience and learn if the entertaining trails and triumphs of early industry men and women in Roma who paved the way for today's modern industry. DAY 2

Day Two: Roma

The Roma Saleyards is Australia's largest cattle selling centre with astonishing numbers of up to 14,000 cattle being sold at any one time. Enjoy a tour of the Roma Saleyards and have all your questions answered by local retired graziers. Next, take a guided tour of St Paul's Anglican Church. St Paul's Anglican Church is an operational Church and is over 100 years old, the beautiful building features truly stunning stained glass windows and has a rich history well worth exploring. Enjoy lunch at the Big Rig Cafu00e9 and the Big Rig Oil Patch where visitors are welcome to explore the wonderful outdoor museum of the Roma Big Rig Oil Patch. After lunch experience the gracious old home of Allan McPherson, Mt Abundance Homestead, dating back to the 1840s (group booking required) or visit historic Meadowbank Museum. Enjoy the afternoon exploring all that down town Roma has to offer, including the Roma on Bungil Art Gallery, numerous boutique shops and local outback Queensland cafes and hotels. DAY 3

Day Three: Roma to Mitchell

Visit the working cattle property 'El Dorado' 26 kilometres north of Roma (group booking required) and enjoy the farm and garden tour or if craft is your passion visit Spring Hill Country Craft Retreat, Amby, with a fully equipped magnificent Patch Work shop and large designated sewing area. Mitchell is an ideal place for lunch before browsing the main street learning all about the history of the notorious Ke iff Brothers. After lunch, revive and rejuvenate in the ancient, mineralised, naturally heated Mitchell Artesian Spas, great for the body and soul. Stay overnight at Mitchell.
DAY 4

Day Four: Mitchell to Injune

145km

From Mitchell travel along the Mitchell-Forestvale Road to Injune. On the way, visit the Major Mitchell campsite and enjoy the amazing landscape and scenery. At this point, you can visit the Mt Moffatt section of Carnarvon Gorge. Continue travelling to Injune where you can see the Wild Dog Fence, spa ing 2,500 kilometres across Queensland. Stay overnight in Injune.
DAY 5

Day Five: Discover Carnarvon Ranges Boobook Ecotour
