The Lake Moondarra Fishing Classic promises three days of non-stop action! Staged at picturesque Lake Moondarra, 15 kilometres north of Mount Isa the annual Moondarra Classic offers a program jam packed with fishing, fun and excitement. Hosted by Mount Isa Fish Stocking Group the Classic raises funds for re-stocking local impoundments with native fish species. Usually held five days before the full moon in October, Biloela’s Callide Family Fishing Classic is all about the Barra. Pulling a 103.3 centimetre beauty has set the record and got everyone excited for what’s to come. About 400 fishing fans join the throng, so all-weekend action is guaranteed. Visit the small Outback town of Isisford , south of Longreach on the Barcoo Way for the annual Isisford Ross Cup Raceday. Six races at this small outback meet. Fashions on the field, bookies, entertainment and kiosk. Gates open at 11.30am with all the racing action kicking off at 1pm. Fashions of the Field theme 'Lovely in Lace' with fantastic prize money. Normally held on the third Saturday of the month, the Biloela Markets line the park lands near the Biloela Information Centre on Callide Street. This is where you’ll find those unexpected gems, the funky hand tooled or crafted specialties, homemade treats, jams and sauces, candles and scents, organic fruit and veg. A market event held on the riverside. Stalls include home cooking, hand-made jewellery, pottery, quilting, arts and crafts, plants, jams and preserves, knick-knacks and other gifts. There will be a barbecue breakfast. Tea, coffee and cold drinks will be available.
The Hughenden Country Music Markets are family friendly markets, held by the Hughenden Country Music Association. You will find local stalls displaying hidden talents craft, jewellery, art, baked goods, plants and so much more!
These markets provide a variety of home made wares, skin care products, jewellery, food and some good old fashioned Rawleighs products. Local honey and home grown plants can also be found here. Food and drinks are available and the makings from this, as well as the stalls fees, are donated to help host the yearly event of the Country Music Festival.
