Gil’s Galavant is a Backyard Ultra. Runners complete a 6.71km loop. Every hour the whistle will indicate that it’s time to return to the corral to start the next loop. The whistle warnings will occur at 3,2 and 1 minutes prior to the bell. All runners must start on the bell (no late starts). Runners continue on until they either time out and not return within the hour, they are not in the starting corral at the time of the starting bell or they turn back after they start another loop and decide that they do not want to continue on. This continues until only two runners remain. The start and finish line will be in the cattle yards located on “Treville Downs”. The total elevation over this course is around 30m. The running surfaces will consist of grass, sandy loam soil, seasonal creek beds and gravel.
