Royston Station is a working cattle and goat property in Outback Queensland. A quiet, peaceful place to get away from it all and enjoy a slower rhythm. Onsite are three clean and comfortable rustic cottages with good amenities and cooking facilities. They accomodate between 2 and 4 people depending on the cottage chosen. Each cottage sits meters from a small dam, affectionately known as the ‘baby lake’ complete with jetty.
Wonderful birdlife here and keen birders have identified about eighty species so far.
Royston boasts an elevated artesian turkeys nest swimming hole where the warm water soothes your cares away. Winter swimming is a thing. Surrounding the water is a large earth platform and from this lofty vantage you can see for miles. Have a picnic tea or bbq and then sit and watch the sun go down and the stars peak out. The sunrises, sunsets and night skies are nothing short of awe inspiring out here.
Where possible, there is opportunity for a property tour with station owner Peter Whip. Learn about life on the land, how we deal with environmental issues, see the artesian bore, cattle yards and hopefully some happy Wagyu cattle and goats in the paddocks.
Royston Station is an easy 45 minute drive southwest on the main highway out of Longreach.
