Day 1: Roma

Arrive in Roma and collect your hire car, ready to explore one of Queensland’s most iconic Outback towns.

Enjoy a light lunch or gazing board in the gardens at Western Queensland Spirit – Outback Queensland’s one and only gin distillery.  Visitors can enjoy private tastings, take part in a workshop or relax in the gardens.

Be sure to sample the distillery’s award-winning Outback Gin which won gold in the London Spirits Competition in 2025.

If visiting between June and September, you will be able to explore the Sculptures Outback outdoor exhibition, where striking large-scale artworks rise from the dramatic landscape.

Finish your day at the Roma’s Big Rig, where you’ll uncover Roma’s rich oil and gas history through engaging exhibits and experiences.

Day 2: Wallaroo

Head North from Roma to Wallaroo Outback Retreat – a secluded sanctuary nestled amongst the magnificent Carnarvon Ranges.

This 72,000-acre property is home to vast bushland and dramatic sandstone country. Guests can enjoy well-appointed glamping tents with private ensuites and a host of nature-based experiences from bush walking and yabbying to camp oven cooking and guided tours.

Day 3: Boobook Explore

Today, you will take a guided tour of Wallaroo and its gorges, rivers and stunning landscapes with Boobook Explore.

Here, you’ll step back in time as you explore cycad groves, incredible rock formations and Aboriginal cave art.

You’ll travel by 4WD, air-conditioned mini-bus with short walks to spectacular sites deep in the Carnarvon Ranges. Your eco-guide will share fascinating insights and you’ll discover how this land has supported flora, fauna and humanity in harmony for centuries.
