Charlotte Plains is an award-winning family-owned and operated sheep station, featuring campgrounds and hot artesian springs, located near Cunnamulla, Outback Queensland!
Set on 27,000 hectares, the property offers a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in nature, unwind in the hot artesian baths, and gain insight into the station’s rich pastoral history—all while experiencing the incredible biodiversity of the region. Home to over 130 bird species, Charlotte Plains is a paradise for birdwatchers, with kangaroos, emus, and other native wildlife roaming freely too.
Unpowered campsites are within walking distance of 14 baths delivering free-flowing artesian water naturally heated up to 42°C that become ‘hot property’ at sunrise and sunset. Enjoy a bushwalk, roast marshmallows around the campfire, and relax under the stars. The pet-friendly Bore Campsite offers amenities and Wi-Fi, with a Merch Hut and licensed bar opening during peak season.
The Shearers’ Campsite, situated 8.5km from the artesian baths, offers limited powered sites; whilst the Shearers’ Quarters and Merino Cabin provides onsite accommodation with comfortable beds, kitchen facilities, outdoor barbecue dining, and a campfire.
Guests can book a private bathing hut experience – either for an hour or overnight stay – with exclusive use of the baths and the surrounding stunning landscape.
Day passes are available for visitors wishing to stop in for a rejuvenating soak or to take a self-guided property tour.

The Merino Cabin is a self-contained unit that has been newly renovated to offer Charlotte Plains' most upscale accommodation option. It features an open-plan kitchen and dining area, along with two bedrooms. Relax and enjoy the serene surroundings on your private deck, complete with a hammock and BBQ.nnSituated at the centre of the property, this accommodation is located 8.5km from the Bore Campsite featuring our Artesian Hot Springs and baths, 1km from the Private Bathing Hut and 2km from the Homestead.nnAmenities include fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, clean linen & towels, air conditioning, private deck, hammock, BBQ. Shared laundry facilities are only 100m. nnPets are not permitted inside the Merino Cabin but are welcome on the deck or can be tied up nearby on a leash. Please ensure that pets are well-behaved and any mess they create is promptly cleaned up.nnFires are permitted and there is wood available for your own collection.

Shearersu2019 Quarters
The Shearer's Quarters, which historically housed sheep shearers at Charlotte Plains, offers basic accommodation. In the Quarters, there are six Twin Single rooms (two king single beds per room) and two Double Rooms (one double bed per room). nnSituated at the centre of the property, this accommodation is located 8.5km from the Bore Campsite featuring our Artesian Hot Springs and baths, 1km from the Private Bathing Hut and 2km from the Homestead.nnAmenities include air conditioning, clean linen & towels, shared kitchen, shared laundry, shared bathroom, and outdoor BBQ.nnPets are not permitted inside the rooms, with the exception of two designated pet-friendly rooms u2014 one double room and one twin single room. A 'Pet Cleaning' fee applies for these rooms. Pets must sleep on a pet bed or on the floor, not on the bed. If you are not staying in a designated pet room, your pets are welcome on the deck or can be tied up nearby on a leash. Please ensure that pets are well-behaved and any mess they create is promptly cleaned up.nnFires are permitted and there is wood available for your own collection.

Bore Campsite (Unpowered Camping)
Camp right in the heart of Charlotte Plains at the unpowered Bore Campsite. Enjoy the hot artesian baths or unwind with a drink at the Bore Baa. nnThe Bore Campsite is located 4km off the highway, 8.5km from the Shearer's Quarters and Campsite and 10.5km from the Homestead.nnSites are not allocated so you can pick your spot on arrival. With plenty of space, you can camp near the Bore Head or further down the Bore Drain, for more peace and quiet.nnAmenities include Hot Artesian baths, ablution block with three flushing toilets and three showers, two toilets/shower combo, several long drops around the campsite, shared laundry facilities (located at the Shearer's Quarters).nnWIFI/Phone: 10 mins Free WIFI, then paid-for service at $10 for 3 days. There is NO 3G, 4G, or 5G phone reception.nnGenerators: Permitted between 8am and 8pm.nnPets: Pets are permitted at the Bore Campsite. Dogs are not allowed in bath tubs or in the main area of the Bore Drain (you may take them further down the drain). Please ensure that they are well-behaved and that any mess they make is cleaned up.nnFires: Permitted and there is wood available for your own collection.
