The historic Oasis Exchange Hotel (circa 1824) in Torrens Creek is an essential stop for individuals, tourists and business travellers.
Based on the Flinders Highway between Charters Towers and Hughenden, the historical region of Torrens Creek connects North East Queensland to the NT, Western and Southern States. Torrens Creek has a rich history and was used as an ammunitions depot in WWII.
Today the hotel offers a general store and cafe, petrol station, bar & bistro, swimming pool, hotel and motel rooms and caravan park. The hotel prides itself on its greenery and wildlife. the train stops across the road from the hotel and meals are served all day from 7am to late mid-week and 9am – late on weekends.
