Mungindi is gearing up for Round Two of the Border Battle – where Queensland pride meets New South Wales loyalty and friendly rivalry takes centre stage. In celebration of the kick-off of the State of Origin, locals from both sides of the Barwon River will come together for a morning of mate ship, mischief, and Maroon-versus-Blue bragging rights.

Whether you’re proudly Maroon or passionately Blue, pull on your colours and cheer on as the Mayors of Balonne Shire and Moree Plains Shire face off in a series of fun, good-natured challenges. No footy boots required, just quick wit, community spirit, and a willingness to take on a challenge or two under the shadow of the iconic Mungindi Bridge.

Expect a sizzling BBQ breakfast, supporter tattoos and plenty of friendly banter, and a line-up of family activities including supporter tattoos keeping the energy high. It’s the one day of the year where mate goes up against mate, neighbour rivals neighbour, and the whole town unites for a bit of cross-border fun.
