The Outback Rail Adventure is Outback Aussie Tours’ newest tourism experience reconnecting our visitors with the romance of rail.

The Outback Rail Adventure has five new experiences to offer:
Historic Ilfracombe Excursion – This 4.5hr journey takes you to the historic town of Ilfracombe, where you will explore the town and have lunch at the famous Wellshot Hotel before returning home.
Great Darr River Rail Run – A 3hr experience travelling west to the Darr River, where you will enjoy a homemade smoko and billy tea before heading home.
Silver-Tails Rail Sunset – This 4.5hr experience is a unique way to enjoy the sun setting while indulging in signature canapes.
Silver-Tails Rail Sunset with Smithy’s Dinner and Show – Enjoy the Silver-Tails Rail Sunset experience before disembarking from the train to enjoy Smithy’s Outback Dinner & Show under the stars by the Thomson River.

Great Darr River Run
Discover the incredible land types of the Longreach region on our heritage Rail Motor. Relax by rail through the incredible landscapes from the Dreamtime of the Inningai people, our wildlife encounters, as well as the pioneering and natural heritage story as you travel out to the Darr River. Watch as the countryside changes from floodplains to Gidgee scrub, then open Boree, to Leander sand ridge, and the Mulga country.nnOn arrival at Darr River soak up the atmosphere of one of the major tributaries of the Thomson River and Cooper Creek Catchment as you savour the experience and we boil the billy for Smoko.nnAfter an incredible Outback Rail Adventure on the Great Darr River Run, re-board the train for the journey back to Longreach Railway Station.
