Learn about the region’s history at the Isa Experience Heritage Display with exhibits showing the development of Mount Isa over the past 100 years.
Art lovers will adore the eclectic display of old and new paintings, sculptures and Indigenous works by local and regional artists at the Mount Isa Regional Art Gallery.
For a faster pace, visit the Rodeo Hall of Fame to discover the history of the southern hemisphere’s largest rodeo – the Mount Isa Mines Rodeo – and the brave men and women who over the years have tested their skills in the ring.
The Centre’s main attraction is the Hard Times Mine Underground Tour where you’ll descend in the Alimak Cage for a first-hand experience of the tough subterranean working life of Mount Isa’s miners.
When you need to take a breather, relax in the beautifully landscaped gardens of Outback Park with its tranquil lagoon and waterfall, or take a tour with an Indigenous heritage bush guide to learn about the ingenious ways native plants have been used by First Nations people for thousands of years.
