Get Hooked on the St George Region

Get Hooked in St George this winter with a unique scavenger hunt that will guide you through one of Outback Queensland’s most unique road trips!

In June, the region’s much-loved I Got Hooked on St George Region Scavenger Hunt returns, encouraging travellers to explore all seven towns across the Balonne Shire while collecting unique fish tokens, solving clues and discovering hidden gems along the way.

The concept is simple: solve the riddles, work out the landmark, snap a photo, post to your social media with the hashtag #IGotHooked and collect a colourful fish token representing each town.

As you journey across the region, you’ll build your collection – each token a small reminder of the places you’ve explored and the memories you’ve made.

Complete all seven and you’ll not only take home a special “I Got Hooked” keyring but will also go into the draw for prizes.

From June through to the end of October, the first four participants each month who successfully complete the scavenger hunt and collect all seven fish tokens will receive a $100 fuel voucher.

Discover Seven Unique Outback Towns

The scavenger hunt is about far more than collecting tokens. Along the way, you’ll uncover the stories, characters, landscapes and attractions of St George, Dirranbandi, Bollon, Hebel, Thallon, Nindigully and Mungindi.

Cast a line in the Balonne River, soak up a famous Outback sunset, enjoy a cold drink at an iconic country pub and connect with welcoming local communities that embody true country hospitality.

Whether you’re travelling in a caravan, motorhome, 4WD or family vehicle, the St George Region offers plenty of reasons to stay a little longer.

The I Got Hooked on St George Region ScavengerHunt will run through to 31 October.
