An Outback Queensland adventure is calling and music will lead the way when QLD Music Trails: The Outback returns 24 April – 9 May.

Queensland Music Trails is rewriting the rulebook on regional travel, transforming a classic Aussie road trip into a rolling, state-wide music experience.

From Charleville to Mount Isa, this one-of-a-kind self-drive adventure blends live music, unforgettable landscapes and the warmth of country communities into a journey like no other.

The Outback Trail is more than a festival — it’s an iconic Australian road trip.

The Trail unfolds town by town, from places Charleville to Winton and Mount Isa. Each stop offering its own mix of music, culture and warm country hospitality.

You’ll trade city skylines for endless horizons, dance under a blanket of stars, share meals with locals and experience performances that will stay with you long after the final note.

This isn’t your typical festival. It’s a moving experience that blends live music with everything that makes Outback Queensland unforgettable — big skies, bush culture, welcoming communities, open-air concerts against unforgettable backdrops and a whole lot of character.

The journey culminates in Outback Sounds at Mount Isa for the Trail’s finale, an open-air music festival headlined by Kaylee Bell, 2023 CMA Global Artist of the Year, and The Wolfe Brothers, Australia’s most awarded country rock duo.

Trail Ambassadors Taylor Moss and Tori Darke are along for the ride, guiding audiences along the way and sharing their passion for country music and Outback culture at every stop.
